German-Speaking SEO Specialist

We are looking for an experienced German-speaking SEO specialist. It’s a remote freelance SEO job and we are looking to build a long-term relationship with the right candidate. Please refer to the full vacancy on our LinkedIn page.

We are looking for an SEO specialist that meets the following criteria:

  • Experienced German-speaking SEO specialist with experience in tech topics like VPNs, cybersecurity, censorship, software reviews, and so on.
  • Excellent understanding level of English.
  • Fluent German speaking with excellent linguistic skills.
  • Available between 12 and 16 hours per week (possibly a bit more during startup weeks), with the intention to commit to long-term cooperation.
  • A hard worker with a drive to be the best with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Someone who can handle deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of search engine algorithms and ranking factors.
  • Critical thinking – able to find potential issues on the site you work on.
  • Able to perform in-depth keyword research.
  • Able to perform a competitive SEO analysis.
  • Knowledge of technical SEO.
  • Proficiency in SEO-related tools like GSC, Analytics, Ahrefs, Surfer SEO, SEO Monitor etc.
  • Experience with writing SEO briefs for content teams.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to track, measure and report the performance of article updates and publications and the effectiveness of specific SEO strategies.
  • Good communication skills: able to collaborate with all internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand, apply and collaborate on global SEO strategies that go beyond just your own market.

Main responsibilities

  • Creating a database of the existing content for your market and dividing it per topic clusters.
  • Creating and analyzing KW database for the macro categories.
  • Analysis and improvement of main menu, interlinking, and meta info.
  • Determining which articles have priority in terms of article updates and localization; and create priority lists for your market based on SEO opportunity.
  • Supporting content managers for your market by writing SEO briefs for article updates and new articles.
  • Tracking results of article updates & new content, discussing with content managers and reporting results to international content lead & management.
  • Sharing valuable wins for your market with the international team.

You will give support and SEO guidance to the content manager for your market.

You will do the necessary research, examine the articles that currently rank well in the SERPs, and provide the content team with an SEO brief for each article to be written, localized or updated. Supported by these briefs, the content team will be able to localize, write or update articles that exceed existing articles in the SERPs in terms of quality and SEO optimization.
